Lukhanyo Mdingi’s work has been featured everywhere in the past month, and fashionistas, artists and designers are tripping over themselves to get a piece of him.

His latest collection of startling cold, rich images are part of a series called Taintless, which is the name of his Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Before even looking at the fashion, the quality and curatorship of the images is breathtaking and, in many ways, has set a new standard for local lookbooks, and for Mdingi himself.

The lookbook was styled by Gabrielle Kannemeyer and shot by Travys Owen. It showcases the glamour and elegance of models Toyin Oneyene and Gandhi Mukiza.

In an Elle interview, Mdingi explained the inspiration for the collection. “Taintless is based on Oriental aesthetics, and uses this as a source to blur the lines between his and her fashion.” Check out lukhanyomdingi.co.za
