US President Barack Obama released his playlist on desktop music-streaming site Spotify last week.

Obama revealed that some of his favourite songs were penned by musicians including Bob Dylan, British band Coldplay and US superstar Beyoncé.

City Press asked President Jacob Zuma’s spokesperson, Bongani Majola, for some of the president’s favourite songs, but he only giggled and said he would try. No luck there.

We also asked EFF leader Julius Malema for some of the music he would choose first but he said he was too exhausted.

The only political leader who would provide us with his playlist was DA leader Mmusi Maimane.

However, we have come up with what we think is likely to be on the presidential iPod.

We’ve also guessed what is probably blaring out of the speakers of Malema’s GTI. MAIMANE’S REAL PLAYLIST INCLUDES: Miriam Makeba & Harry Belafonte – Malaika Stimela – Whispers in the deep Jonas Gwangwa – Kgomo Roberta Flack – Quiet fire Brian McKnight – From here to there Mafikizolo – Khona Beatenberg – Pluto U2 – I still haven’t found what I’m looking for Oskido – I believe Joyous Celebration – O Mohau
