In T-Boz’s words

The ANC acted commendably when it condemned the homophobic remarks of uMzinyathi District Municipality Mayor James Mthethwa. The mayor had said gay men sleeping with each other was shameful and increased the risk of HIV/Aids.

But curiously, the ANC invoked the comments of former president Thabo Mbeki that no man had the right to annul the injunction that God created all men and women equal in His image. Why could they not quote their current president on this one?

Is it because Number 1’s comments would have been more embarrassing?
