Tooth and claw in menagerie à trois

CityPress - - News - – Staff reporter

In what has been called a menagerie à trois, two female keepers at London Zoo fought “tooth and claw” over a llama keeper who ditched one and dated the other.

Caroline Westlake, who tended the meerkats, was sacked after hitting her love rival in the face with a glass that sliced open her cheek at the zoo’s Christmas party last year.

Kate Sanders, who works in the tiger and monkey enclosures, was given a final written warning.

At the time of the fight, Westlake (30) was dating llama keeper Adam Davies (30) who had been in a fiveyear relationship with Sanders (32).

An employment tribunal heard this week that Sanders continued to harass Davies, which allegedly led to the fracas.
