Ten years of Black Coffee
The year 2015 marks a decade of award-winning DJ Black Coffee’s career in the music industry.
This achievement was celebrated on Monday night at one of Johannesburg’s finest venues and bars, Thirteen, located in hipster-central Braamfontein.
The trendy event was attended by sponsors and some businesspeople. Famous faces spotted included Vuzu Entertainment presenter Denise Zimba, house DJ Shimza, musician Nakhane Toure, hip-hop DJ Switch and Black Coffee’s gorgeous wife, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.
The venue was set up to show images of key moments in Black Coffee’s career, with portraits, prized items and LCD screens reflecting his journey.
Black Coffee – real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo – revealed that Red Bull would be launching a limited edition hero can bearing a photograph of, you guessed it, his face. The can was launched on Tuesday, along with a song.
The collaboration is fitting as the DJ recorded his first album at Red Bull Studios.
Reflecting on his 10-year career, Black Coffee paid tribute to his wife.
“The last five years have been with this amazing woman here,” he said, adding that she had played a vital role in helping him succeed.
Sharing his proud moment with his Facebook fans, he wrote: “I’m incredibly proud to be celebrating the
