Simon and Mary’s new lookbook for their latest collection is a very hot something. The collection – Safari – is made of earthy-toned millinery. For the shoot by Travys Owen, the hats are accompanied by ready-to-wear garments designed by Gabrielle Kannemeyer in textured fabrics of brown, beige, lilac, off-white and khaki-green.
The lookbook has the models melting into the natural surroundings while wearing their fabulous Safari numbers.
The coveted and affordable Simon and Mary hats (of which there is a new range of plaited leather and animal accents) are the perfect accessories to the layered looks of wraps worn in interesting styles, crop tops and tees that are a little too small, and some awkward but still cool fits.

for stockist information Last week, the 2015 winner of the Elle Rising Star Design Award was announced.
Moroccan fashion designer Hamza Guelmouss (20) joins the likes of Loin Cloth & Ashes’ Anisa Mpungwe (who won the competition in 2008) as Elle’s latest fashion star.
Guelmouss says of his work: “My wardrobe is about the idea of selfprotection and nonconformism. My future label will be dedicated to edgy women who celebrate their identity with a dark, androgynous aesthetic.”
The capsule collection he presented captures his vision and Joanne Frédéric, trend director at Mr Price, said: “To choose the winner, we were looking for a designer who could rise to the challenge of taking a concept and executing it into actual garments.
“Hamza won R30 000 from Mr Price to help launch his fashion career, and intensive twoweek internships with Mr Price and Elle.”
Guelmouss will also get the opportunity to design a range that will be sold at Mr Price. He will show a range at the 2016 Elle Rising Star Design Awards. We’re expecting great things from him. – Gugulethu Mhlungu
