Sa­sol names new joint CEOs

Sa­sol has named two CEOs to take over lead­er­ship of the world’s big­gest pro­ducer of liq­uid fu­els from coal when David Con­sta­ble steps down from the role.

Bon­gani Nqwababa and Stephen Rus­sell Cor­nell will start as joint CEOs from July 1 2016, the be­gin­ning of Sa­sol’s next fi­nan­cial year.

Nqwababa, Sa­sol’s chief fi­nan­cial of­fi­cer, will be re­placed by Paul Vic­tor, se­nior vice- pres­i­dent of fi­nan­cial con­trol ser­vices.

Cor­nell is ex­ec­u­tive vice-pres­i­dent of in­ter­na­tional op­er­a­tions and a mem­ber of the com­pany’s group ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee.

“They have com­ple­men­tary skills, ex­pe­ri­ence, qual­i­fi­ca­tions and back­grounds, and to­gether will form a for­mi­da­ble team to take this large and com­plex com­pany to the next level of per­for­mance and suc­cess,” said Sa­sol chair­per­son Mandla Gantsho.
