Recently, images of singer and businesswoman Nhlanhla Nciza, 5FM DJ Thando Thabethe, PR whizz Melanie Ramjee and media personality Amanda du-Pont in beautiful bridal couture surfaced on various social-media platforms, with cryptic captions. Initially, it was thought that Thabethe was announcing an engagement, as her image was one of the first to be shared.

It turns out that the images are part of fashion house Tsotetsi KL’s new bridal range, for which the aforementioned women are the faces. The brand says: “Tsotetsi KL has been actively running for three years, as a young brand. Recently, we have gained enough momentum, respect and demand that there developed a market for bridal wear. TKL Bride branched out of the original Tsotetsi KL. We have been planning the launch for about six months, continuously designing and constructing every piece single-handedly to date. Our pieces mainly focus on detail, and are unique yet simple.”

And who is the perfect Tsotetsi KL bride? “Any sophisticated young women who are not scared to turn heads, women with a flair for fashion. TKL Bride serves women who do not hesitate to demand attention to appropriate fit, quality and perfection for their special day, all the while portraying the genuine distinctiveness of such a gown.”

The label says it chose Du-Pont, Nciza, Thabethe, Rorisang Thandekiso and Ramjee because “all these ladies resemble different South African women, which the brand embodies”.

The lookbook is beautiful and fairy tale-like.
