World Arts Cinema Season, The Fugard Theatre Bioscope, Cape Town This is the Fugard Theatre Bioscope’s latest offering of classy, classic, theatrical films in what has become a film-festival institution.

For the fifth consecutive year, the theatre has partnered with the UK’s Royal Opera House, Royal Ballet and National Theatre, as well as Russia’s Bolshoi Ballet. It brings Cape Town audiences the very finest in theatre, opera and ballet translated to screen from some of the world’s most famous stages.

This will be a three-month-long film showcase for those who prefer a touch of real art in their cinema. Highlights for this season include the eagerly awaited National Theatre production of Hamlet, starring Academy Award-nominee Benedict Cumberbatch, as well as the much-talkedabout Son of Saul, and even an encore of The National Theatre’s major production of William Shakespeare’s Othello. The Royal Ballet’s performance of Frankenstein will complete the season in July. Visit thefugard.com for the full
