the festive season, rural development worker Dipolelo stuck to his goal of paying off his furniture account with the extra money he earned from his part-time job.
“Dipolelo is on a financial wellness high,” says Momentum financial adviser Mashiase Okeke.
Dipolelo’s financial goals for 2016 are to contribute R500 a month to an educational plan for his son from February, and to put R500 a month into an emergency fund.
“My biggest goal is to marry my fiancée and pay the lobola by June. For this, I need to save R1 000 a month,” says Dipolelo.
“I am much happier now and in good health as I am not stressing about money.”
He is also researching how to reduce the interest rate on his bond.
