the fes­tive sea­son, ru­ral de­vel­op­ment worker Dipolelo stuck to his goal of pay­ing off his fur­ni­ture ac­count with the ex­tra money he earned from his part-time job.

“Dipolelo is on a fi­nan­cial well­ness high,” says Mo­men­tum fi­nan­cial ad­viser Mashiase Okeke.

Dipolelo’s fi­nan­cial goals for 2016 are to con­trib­ute R500 a month to an ed­u­ca­tional plan for his son from Fe­bru­ary, and to put R500 a month into an emer­gency fund.

“My big­gest goal is to marry my fi­ancée and pay the lobola by June. For this, I need to save R1 000 a month,” says Dipolelo.

“I am much hap­pier now and in good health as I am not stress­ing about money.”

He is also re­search­ing how to re­duce the in­ter­est rate on his bond.
