It’s that time again. Master musicians from around the world will descend on Joburg for two weeks to perform in spectacular fashion. We’ve picked the must-see events from the festival: Chamber Orchestra Concert February 6 at 4pm The Edge, St Mary’s School, Waverley Watch the magnificent Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble, conducted by Rosemary Nalden, perform works by the greats, including Jean-Philippe Rameau, Jules Massenet, Angela Morley and Johann Sebastian Bach. In this fun, free concert, you’ll see the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra put chief executives from different fields in front of an orchestra as conductors – so they can see for themselves what it is like to direct a group of
musicians. Final Concert February 7 at 3pm Linder Auditorium The final concert to wrap up the festival is always a highlight, so don’t miss it. This time around, you can catch James Grace on guitar, the Chanticleer Singers and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, all conducted by the legendary Richard Cock.
