It’s that time again. Mas­ter mu­si­cians from around the world will de­scend on Joburg for two weeks to per­form in spec­tac­u­lar fash­ion. We’ve picked the must-see events from the fes­ti­val: Cham­ber Or­ches­tra Con­cert Fe­bru­ary 6 at 4pm The Edge, St Mary’s School, Waver­ley Watch the mag­nif­i­cent Buskaid Soweto String En­sem­ble, con­ducted by Rose­mary Nalden, per­form works by the greats, in­clud­ing Jean-Philippe Rameau, Jules Massenet, An­gela Mor­ley and Jo­hann Se­bas­tian Bach. In this fun, free con­cert, you’ll see the Jo­han­nes­burg Fes­ti­val Or­ches­tra put chief ex­ec­u­tives from dif­fer­ent fields in front of an or­ches­tra as con­duc­tors – so they can see for them­selves what it is like to di­rect a group of

mu­si­cians. Fi­nal Con­cert Fe­bru­ary 7 at 3pm Lin­der Au­di­to­rium The fi­nal con­cert to wrap up the fes­ti­val is al­ways a high­light, so don’t miss it. This time around, you can catch James Grace on gui­tar, the Chan­ti­cleer Singers and the Jo­han­nes­burg Fes­ti­val Or­ches­tra, all con­ducted by the leg­endary Richard Cock.
