This Os­car leader star­ring Leonardo DiCaprio tells the story of Hugh Glass, a fur trap­per left for dead af­ter a bru­tal bear at­tack. It’s a gor­geously shot and acted ode to hu­man re­silience, al­beit with a rather straight­for­ward plot. – Grethe Koen Suf­fragette Though blind to other is­sues re­lated to the op­pres­sion of women, Suf­fragette – which tells the story of how Bri­tish women fought for and gained the right to vote – is worth a view­ing, if only for the stel­lar cast. – Gugulethu Mh­lungu
