There’s nothing real about it

Forever Young Vuzu Amp (DStv channel 114) Friday, 7pm Vuzu Amp reality series Forever Young now in its third season. It follows TV presenters Lungile Radu and Siyabonga Ngwekazi, and actor and comic Thomas Gumede, as they travel, party and date in Joburg and beyond.

But the trio, also known by their nicknames Lungsta, Scoop and Gats, wants to be more than just party animals – they’re young and aspiring entertainers who want to make it big.

Apparently, this is one of the channel’s most successful shows, and I can’t help but think it’s because the guys (especially Lungsta) are handsome.

What annoys me is how some scenes seem scripted. Surely a reality show is supposed to be about what happens in real life?

In the episode where they travel to Los Angeles, Thomas decides to stay behind when the rest of the crew leave. No one even questioned why Thomas wanted to stay.

is Instead, Lungile and Siya left it as it was and they headed back to South Africa.

The three claim to be proudly African and talk about how they want to promote African content all over the world. But the truth is, all they do is aspire to be like Americans.

Although they try their best to be entertaining with the mischief they get up to, I’ll be honest: I only watch this show because they are hot and they travel a lot. Lebogang Seloto
