Cadbury’s Joy Generator hits the sweet spot in design quarter
Who thought that a chocolate flavour could best describe your personality? Well, that’s what the Cadbury Joy Generator did on a chilly Thursday night at The Tin Factory in Kramerville. This trendy machine is part of Cadbury’s new marketing plan, which kept reporters and a trickle of celebrities all guessing their flavour match while sharing it with friends on social media.
I discovered what flavour match I was from the 10 different milk chocolate flavours on offer.
The soothing voice of MC Lungile Radu kept us entertained for the night while Idols SA finalist Mmatema Moremi showcased her incredible voice, which had me questioning why she didn’t win the 11th season of the music contest. It wasn’t such a glamorous night, but mingling in the crowd were Mela presenter and Isidingo actress Zakeeya Patel, and choreographer and actress Khabonina Qubeka. YFM DJs Ayanda Mdluli and Khutso Theledi were also out on the town. Generations actress and 5FM radio presenter Thando Thabethe was also spotted in the crowd, as was former Generations star Sonia Sedibe. I thought she would be a co-presenter with Radu, but she opted instead for the weird corner seat with her manager. The stars of the night, however, were the desserts. If you want to find out what your flavour is, the activation starts at Rosebank Mall (from May 18 to 22), continues at Maponya Mall (from May 25 to 29) and then moves to Pretoria’s Menlyn Mall (from June 1 to 5). It’ll hit Durban’s Gateway Mall (from June 8 to 12) and end off at Cape Town’s Canal Walk (from June 15 to 19)
