When you insure your home, it is worthwhile to have an evaluation done by an estate agent to check that you are insured for the replacement value and not necessarily for the market value. The market value is the price that your home can be sold for, but the replacement value is what it would cost you to restore the house to its original condition if it is completely destroyed.
