Who is Khoso Mokhele?

Khoso Mokhele joined the Tiger Brands board in Au­gust 2007 and on Fe­bru­ary 21 this year, at the end of the Tiger Brands AGM, he be­came Tiger Brands chair­per­son. On March 1, he be­came chair­per­son of AECI. He was pre­vi­ously chair­per­son of Im­pala Plat­inum and Ad­cock In­gram and he is a for­mer nonex­ec­u­tive of Zim­plats. He is a nonex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of African Oxy­gen, the chair­per­son of the Hans Meren­sky Foun­da­tion and a nonex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of Hans Meren­sky Hold­ings. He has been chan­cel­lor of the Univer­sity of the Free State since June 2010. He is a spe­cial ad­viser to Sci­ence and Tech­nol­ogy Min­is­ter Naledi Pan­dor. He holds a BSc in agri­cul­ture from the Univer­sity of Fort Hare. He stud­ied at the Univer­sity of Cal­i­for­nia Davis on the Ful­bright-Hays Schol­ar­ship Pro­gramme and com­pleted an MSc (food sci­ence) and a PhD (mi­cro­bi­ol­ogy). He was pres­i­dent and CEO of the Foun­da­tion for Re­search De­vel­op­ment from 1996 to 1999, and from 1999 to 2006 he was pres­i­dent and CEO of the Na­tional Re­search Foun­da­tion.
