Ma’m Pick-it-up

CityPress - - Voices -

It is hard to believe that Minister of Water and Sanitation Nomvula Mokonyane was once in charge of a budget of about R100 billion in Gauteng, and controls more than R15 billion in her current job.

This week, she told the Prez’s supporters that if the rand falls, “we will pick it up”. Calling investors mere “window-shoppers”, she rubbished ratings agencies. Someone should remind her that ratings downgrades and a weaker rand directly affect water and sanitation projects. Or, would she understand if we said it would affect the price of luxury after-shave she may want to buy for her latest Ben 10?
