Nokuthula Mayisela (8), Grade 2, Refano Primary

CityPress - - News -

Nokuthula was the apple of her mother’s eye. Everywhere her mother went, she would be there, cuddled up under her arm.

She loved to watch cartoons all day, and caused a stir whenever somebody changed the channel.

A bubbly girl, she believed that everything in the house was hers, especially the television.

Even on the eve of her tragic death, she went to bed with the remote control.

Her mother found it hidden under her pillow the next day.

Nokuthula’s parents have no idea what she wanted to be when she grew up. All she said was she will never leave home. She would stay with her mother forever.
