Melusi Nxumalo (14), Grade 8, Mahlenga Secondary

CityPress - - News -

Melusi’s biggest dream was to build his mother and sister a proper house that does not leak when it rains.

He would wake up early in the morning and do the house chores, including fetching water. When his mother told him to do the chores when he returned from school, he would say afternoons were for studying.

He believed that education was his ticket out of poverty. His also wanted to send his sister to the best university in South Africa, says his aunt Selina Nxumalo.
