Is MPs’ probe request justified?

CityPress - - Voices -

Wichard Mgaga Gauteng The intention of the proposed investigation is to divert the attention of the state capture investigation to protect Jacob Zuma and his corrupt allies. Vic Masima KwaZulu-Natal It would be ludicrous to investigate a suspected crime that is in the public domain on condition of investigating other unknown crimes. No one crime should be authenticated by other crimes for it to be a crime. Some people are playing brinkmanship and hide-and-seek with the lives and livelihoods of millions of their so-called people. Gwendoline Gauteng When did the MPs know about the shenanigans at these institutions and why did they not report them? Anyway, if these MPs have genuine reasons for the investigation then it should be conducted, but only after that of the state capture/Guptas has been completed. Another investigation should also be conducted against these MPs to determine if they have not contravened the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act by not reporting whatever it is they think that these

They must report it to the SA Police Service for it to investigate and not try to derail the Public Protector because it will not work. Gaolatlhe North West I strongly agree that other financial institutions should be probed, but the case should be handled as it emerges. These MPs must not cloud matters. They are doing that because they know that we are led by corrupt deployed comrades. Remember the minister of social development once said that in the ANC they all have skeletons? Percival Klaaste Eastern Cape There is no merit to the MPs’ request. Zandile Gauteng Yes, financial institutions should be probed. Jackie Gauteng I don’t understand why other institutions should be probed when it is clear that the Guptas are the ones who are corrupting our country and have captured some of the state institutions. Mbingeleli Vatsha KwaZulu-Natal I am totally against what was done by the MPs, and I am also against having the financial institutions probed. That will distract from the inquiry to be carried out. Mncedo Kupi Gauteng The probe was about state capture by the Guptas, Zuma and a few ANC NEC members. The financial institutions should not be probed.
