MiWay man fears he will lose his job

CityPress - - News - – Johan Eybers, Rapport

After he was outed by MiWay as the author of a fake, racist email, Mondli Madlala (32) fears he may lose his car salesman job and battle to find another.

Madlala, who also works as DJ Babaloo, said his strife began when a car he owned, which was used as an Uber vehicle, was involved in an accident. MiWay wouldn’t pay his claim and the loss of income meant he had to move out of his Durban apartment and into a back yard flat.

“I’m still panic-stricken... I learnt a very expensive lesson,” he said.

MiWay CEO René Otto decided not to lay charges.

“It was clear to me that Madlala is not a social-media terrorist, but an impulsive young man who made a massive error of judgement,” he said.

“I felt his apology was genuine and I immediately accepted it. The world can’t function without forgiveness.

“Forgiveness opens the door for hope and reconciliation,” he said.
