Hot & Not

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi had quite a week fighting racism. First was Windsor House Academy private school where 11 black girls were sent home over their hairstyles. Next was Klipspruit West Secondary, where some coloured parents did not want a black principal. Last up was the elite St John’s College where a white teacher was finally fired for his racist remarks. How low can Andile Mngxitama and his band, Black First Land First, go? Recently, the group was barred by the court for threatening journalists. On Thursday, it disrupted an event organised by amaBhungane to discuss state capture. It has no respect for the Constitution, which ensures the right to gather and associate with whomever one wants.
