God and politics

CityPress - - Voices -

It seems it has become tradition that political leaders, when faced with hardship in their careers, turn to God. Sometimes, in their attempt to boost the morale of the politicians, the clergy misuse the Lord’s word. Take Reverend Dr JV Fatuse, who told people in Nelson Mandela Bay, which President Jacob Zuma visited this week, that the Bible does not say the president should step down. He forgot to mention that South Africa is a constitutional state and presidents have term limits. When the time comes, they leave and are not forced to do so. That’s the law, Rev.
