Condé Nast House & Garden - - OBSESSIONS -

The look ‘Substantial, impactful and artisanal.’ Signature material ‘I work exclusively with clay. I am attracted to it for its qualities as a universal and unassuming medium. Though my process involves having a concept for how I’d like the final product to look, between the moulding, firing and sanding, it always results in something truly unique and somewhat unintentional. Due to my medium of choice, I can never make the same pieces twice – even if I tried to.’ Philosophy ‘I am inspired by two-dimensional forms and the way they interact with the body. I often think of them more as silhouettes than shapes. I pride my pieces on their ability to be both minimal and ornamental.’ The meaning behind my pieces is... ‘That the individual wearer is an admirer of that which is unique, and sees themselves in the same way. They assert a soft power with their presence.’ My next move is... ‘To open an online store.’
