Condé Nast House & Garden - - OBSESSIONS -

The look ‘My brand, Ma’art Jewellery, focuses on contemporary pieces with a simplistic design, abstract geometry and sculptural forms.’ Signature material ‘I mainly work with brass, silver and wood, however, the type of material I use tends to change depending on the narrative I am attempting to convey through the individual pieces.’ Philosophy ‘I draw inspiration from my surroundings, particularly materials and objects discarded as being useless. I collect these pieces, literally, from the ground and use them to tell a story. Aesthetically, though, I’m very drawn to modern art, especially the treatment of form in Cubism.’ My jewellery is for people who... ‘Are aware of design. The people who understand that jewellery and the body must interact and the way that jewellery can add to an individual’s visual appeal. My next move is... ‘I am currently working towards a contemporary group exhibition with Tinsel gallery, which allows me the opportunity to focus on the more conceptual side of jewellery design.’
