Condé Nast House & Garden - - DESIGN NOTES -

The outdoor shower is positioned in a private, wedge-shaped courtyard. ‘cast concrete as a material has a permanence about it, a sculptural moment frozen in time,’ says silvio. ‘The texture of the concrete is the negative imprint of the shuttering used to create it. In this case we chose to use sandblasted pine as shuttering. a second layer of texture was added in a modernist way in the form of rectangular bands to reflect the light and create interest in the concrete composition. The concrete formula was light sand and selected stone by Métier.’
