Mandy Crookes Botanical Photographer and Artist

Condé Nast House & Garden - - NATURAL HABITAT -

With work as varied and beautiful as her Kwazulu-natal garden and plant collection, Mandy’s chosen green space is her hothouse – surrounded by plants and her botanical muse du jour. ‘It’s one of my favourite places,’ she says. ‘It’s a space for propagation and nurture – and protecting my plants from the summer downpours and winter frost.’ For Mandy, gardening is as much therapeutic as it is an art form. ‘Photographing and painting my plants is part of my creative expression. I move from one platform to the other and am constantly intrigued and inspired by their colour, shape and form.’ @mirandahenrietta
