3 Celebrate All Things Femme
Pussy Party takes place on the second Wednesday of every month at Kitchener’s in Braamfontein. A celebration of all things femme, with female DJs and no cover charge for women, it’s a safe space for networking, learning and celebrating together. Past DJs include Maria McCloy and Dope Saint Jude (right). 4 Sing for Freedom Sophiatown – the classic musical celebrating one of Jo’burg’s last freehold areas during apartheid – is back at Pretoria’s SA State Theatre until 13 May. 5 Read This The Franschhoek Literary Festival runs from 18 to 20 May and oers an impressive programme featuring the likes of Danielle Bowler and Lauren Beukes (left).
