Bay a Beacon of light in the mixed doubles league
THE 2017 East London mixed doubles league has run its course.
Beacon Bay emerged as the strongest club in the league with their A side winning the first league and the B team finishing runners-up.
Beacon Bay A topped the log with a full-house of 33 points, followed by Beacon Bay B on 21. Old Boys followed with nine points and Destiny seven. Oliver Ciganek and Jilda Manson dropped only two games all afternoon.
Gonubie A defeated Destiny to gain third place, while Beacon Bay took fifth position via a walkover against Stirling A. Stirling B finished seventh when Gonubie B were unable to take the court. Final logs: 1st league: Beacon Bay A 33, Beacon Bay B 21, Old Boys 9, Destiny 7
