Train kills man

A MAN was killed when he was hit by a train in Howick near the N3 this morning, ER24 paramedics said.

Spokeswoman, Chitra Bodasing Harduth, said another man, who apparently was with the deceased, sustained critical injuries during the incident.

“ER24 paramedics and other services attended to the incident.

“Sadly there was nothing that could be done for one man who was found lying near the railway line. He was declared dead,” said Harduth.

She said the other man was treated and taken to hospital.

She said the cause of the accident was not known at this stage. – Daily News Reporter
