A PREPARATORY examination was commenced against a Zulu labourer named Charlie Kumalo (38), who had evidence taken against him on a charge alleging assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Dr. A. E. Oakeley, house surgeon at the Kimberley Hospital, described the complainant’s injuries.
