A HEART-WRENCH­ING tale has emerged high­light­ing the plight of many el­derly peo­ple in Kim­ber­ley who can­not af­ford pri­vate nurs­ing care, fol­low­ing the death of Bea­cons­field res­i­dent Mau­reen Coet­zer (67). Coet­zer died of al­leged ne­glect af­ter the po­lice found her body, ap­par­ently a week af­ter she passed away, in her Im­pala Court flat in Bea­cons­field. Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a case of mur­der af­ter the au­topsy re­port showed that Coet­zer died from nat­u­ral causes, al­legedly re­sult­ing from ne­glect.
