KONA ELECTRIC A FIRST FOR HYUNDAI
With the all-new Kona Electric, Hyundai presents the world’s first full-electric subcompact SUV. Offering two battery pack options, the long-range version, with a 64 kWh battery pack, boasts a range of 470 kilometres, and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. The standard version, with a battery capacity of 39 kWh, offers a range of 300 kilometres, and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 9.3 seconds. Both versions deliver 395 Nm of instant torque and a top speed of 167 km/h. Charging the lithium-ion polymer battery up to 80% takes about 54 minutes using a 100 kW direct current (DC) fast charger. Charging can also be done from a 240 volt plug or the 7.2 kW on-boardcharger using alternating current (AC). The latter takes 9 hours 40 minutes for the long-range battery pack and 6 hours 10 minutes for the standard battery pack.The Kona Electric is set to go on sale in Europe in December 2018.
