TWO TO FOUR
Here at Driven, we like all things wheels. Two, four, six it really doesn’t matter. But when something that was, in principle at least, conceived as a two-wheeler gets four of them, we can’t help but sit up and take notice. Furthermore, the ‘motorcycle’ named the Lazareth LM 410, has also caused somewhat of an uproar since some news agencies, probably due to the excitement of breaking the news of this modern-superbike-meets-post-apocalyptic creation, reported that it will be powered by a Maserati V8 engine. That, however, is not the case since we have verified that it will indeed be driven by a more modest Yamaha R1, 4-cylinder, 998 cc engine. While the 147 kW motor is nothing revolutionary, what is quite special about the LM 410 is the implementation of its pendulum abilities that can lean into a corner, while keeping maximum traction thanks to the parallel wheels. Also, it has an anti-tilting system that counteracts the pendulum effect when stationary. It is quite exclusive with a price of around R1.3m and a production run of only 10 units.
