THE ENTRANCE

DRUM Weddings - - HLUBI & KIRSTEN -

The couple rehearsed a special dance for their reception entrance to Brenda Fassie’s Vulindlela. “Then, all of a sudden, my husband, who loves to dance, just breaks into a dance of his own!” Hlubi says. “So much for the dance rehearsal! But, of course, in the end I joined him. It was a great moment,” she says. Having their wedding at her parents’ home was her dad Mzobanzi’s idea. “It was wonderful to share our wedding with friends and family at the home blessed by our ancestors,” Hlubi says.

“It also saved us venue costs!” The couple also brought in more tradition at the ceremony when Kirsten and his groomsmen were led to the waiting bride by a bagpipe player, playing his clan’s anthem.
