Guests enjoyed lamb stew, beef stew, chicken curry and roasted gammon made by Hlubi’s mom, Nothemba.
Side dishes included samp and beans, spinach, rice, pumpkin and salads. A traditional goat dish called nyama was prepared by the Mboya elders and served with steamed bread. There was also lamb on a spit braai. Dessert included apple crumble cups (opposite page, bottom right) with fresh cream and little milk tarts (opposite page, above right).
