DRUM - - Chill Out - – NATALIE CAVERNELIS

Laura is attending a solar eclipse festival with boyfriend Kit in 1999 when she interrupts what looks to her to be a rape. They call the police and it leads to the arrest of Jamie.

He claims he and the girl, Beth, were having consensual sex and Laura misunderstood what she saw.

The case goes to trial with reporters calling it a typical “he-said-shesaid” situation. It’s a creepy thriller that moves back and forth in time between 1999 and 2015, and it’s told in alternating chapters by Laura and Kit who marry in 2015, change their names and go into hiding.

The tension mounts and it’s worth the patience as you try to work out why they’re scared of Beth and what exactly is going on.
