CHOKING

DRUM - - In The Classroom -

If someone is choking, ask them to bend over then give them a whack between the

shoulder blades. If this doesn’t work, hug them from behind and pull inward and

upward a few times, keeping your hands folded and placed just above the belly button. If you’re doing this correctly, the blockage will fly from the person’s mouth.

Note, you can’t apply this technique with babies or pregnant women!

If it doesn’t work after trying five times, call an ambulance. Then CPR or chest presses might be needed. S
