DRUM - - Ed's Note -

Reports that kwaito star and convicted rapist Sipho “Brickz” Ndlovu smokes dagga in prison in order to keep calm, are shocking. Where does he get it and why is he saying weed can help someone run away from their troubles?

Let me tell you, weed doesn’t help anyone. It only leads to more trouble and a miserable lifestyle, or even death, within a short time. Never fool yourself into thinking you’ll feel better or won’t have stress if you use substances.

Building better communities should start with people in the public eye. Celebrities must stop disappointing the younger generation who are looking for role models. Brickz must be punished for using weed in jail.

The government is trying to promote anti-drug abuse awareness but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

Why do we allow the scourge of drugs to spread in our communities? MIYELANI HLUNGWANI, MUKHOMI VILLAGE
