DRUM - - Ed's Note -

South Africa’s top female referee, Akhona Makalima, was invited by the Confederation of African Football to an elite referee training course for women in Morocco. She hopes the invitation will open doors for her to officiate at the 21st Fifa World Cup in Russia in June 2018.

Akhona is the only woman to officiate in the Absa Premiership, a world dominated by the men (On an equal footing, 14 September).

Go raise the Makalima flag high. I’m happy for you. VIOLA SIPHOSENKOSI MAKHALIMA, FACEBOOK

Ag, women must officiate in women’s football. I have never seen that in EPL or the major leagues. FHATUWANI TF TSHIVHOMBELA, FACEBOOK
