Cer­tain in­gre­di­ents can give your soap ex­tra oomph. Look out for these if you want a soap that does more than just clean.

It’s said the Egyp­tian queen Cleopa­tra bathed in milk as part of her beauty ­rou­tine. Fill­ing your tub with milk is a little over the top, so rather opt for soap that con­tains this in­gre­di­ent. Milk soaps such as goat’s milk can be good for your skin. It soothes it and gives you a lux­u­ri­ous feel.

Oat­meal isn’t just a healthy break­fast food, it also has won­der­ful beauty ben­e­fits. Oat­meal soap is great for peo­ple with dry skin as it gets rid of ex­cess oil with­out dry­ing out the skin.

Tea tree oil is a nat­u­ral an­ti­sep­tic that can also help re­duce oily skin. ­This in­gre­di­ent is per­fect for peo­ple with acne, shiny or oily skin.

Al­mond oil con­tains vi­ta­min E and ­peo­ple with dry or ir­ri­tated skin can ben­e­fit from its sooth­ing and mois­tur­is­ing prop­er­ties. Soaps that con­tain ground ­al­mond shells are per­fect for ex­fo­li­at­ing and re­mov­ing dead skin cells.

Aloe vera gel is fan­tas­tic for your skin. When used in soap it gets rid of oil and dirt, but it’s also calm­ing and sooth­ing, making it great for sen­si­tive skin.
