Palframan tops 200m ranking
ESHOWE’S top sprint athlete, Justine Palframan, has finished the 2017 athletics season on top of her game.
In the senior women’s 200m, she finished in first place on Athletics South Africa’s top 10 rankings.
Her performance in Kortrijk, Belgium on 8 July when she clocked 22.84 seconds was the top ranking performance of 2017 in the 200m sprint.
She finished 54th on the International Association of Athletics Federations’ (IAAF) rankings.
Alyssa Conley was 0.10 seconds behind her in the 200m which was recorded in Potchefstroom on 22 April.
Forty-first on the IAAF rankings, Caster Semenya continues to rule the senior women’s 400m race with a time of 51.53 seconds recorded in Rabat, Morocco on 16 July.
Justine, who clocked 51.83 seconds in Taipei City, Taiwan on 25 August, is just behind Semenya.
Justine is ranked 65th for the event on the IAAF rankings.
She now has her sights firmly set on the Commonwealth Games next year.
