Pal­fra­man tops 200m rank­ing

ESHOWE’S top sprint ath­lete, Justine Pal­fra­man, has fin­ished the 2017 ath­let­ics sea­son on top of her game.

In the se­nior women’s 200m, she fin­ished in first place on Ath­let­ics South Africa’s top 10 rank­ings.

Her per­for­mance in Kor­trijk, Bel­gium on 8 July when she clocked 22.84 sec­onds was the top rank­ing per­for­mance of 2017 in the 200m sprint.

She fin­ished 54th on the In­ter­na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion of Ath­let­ics Fed­er­a­tions’ (IAAF) rank­ings.

Alyssa Con­ley was 0.10 sec­onds be­hind her in the 200m which was recorded in Potchef­stroom on 22 April.

Forty-first on the IAAF rank­ings, Caster Se­menya con­tin­ues to rule the se­nior women’s 400m race with a time of 51.53 sec­onds recorded in Ra­bat, Morocco on 16 July.

Justine, who clocked 51.83 sec­onds in Taipei City, Tai­wan on 25 Au­gust, is just be­hind Se­menya.

Justine is ranked 65th for the event on the IAAF rank­ings.

She now has her sights firmly set on the Com­mon­wealth Games next year.
