More security guards needed at schools

Eyethu Baywatch - - LETTERS • IZINCWADI -

EVERY day we read or hear about heartbreaking incidents happening in our schools.

Learners stabbing each other to death, as well as coming to school armed with guns.

It’s obvious that the teachers are not safe in these situations.

In most of our schools there is either only one or no security guard at the gate.

One security guard can’t manage to search more than 200 learners.

There should be at least four security guards deployed at all school gates.

If there is enough security in our schools there should be no pupil entering the school premises carrying a dangerous weapon.
