Thumbs up for action against road hogs

Eyethu Baywatch - - LETTERS • IZINCWADI -

I HAVE to applaud the City of uMhlathuze for stepping up efforts to deal with drunk driving, speeding and traffic transgressions on our roads.

The number of drivers who blatantly disregard the rules of the road and the safety of other drivers and their families is shocking.

Driving through our city every day with my children, I witness too many drivers skipping red traffic lights, not signalling which direction they are intending to go and just blatantly ignoring the speed limit and tailgating to put pressure on other drivers.

There are just too many accidents and fatalities on our roads which are caused by this lawlessness.

So, I commend the city for putting measures in place like equipping officers with high-tech speed cameras and ensuring officer visibility across the city.

This will indeed go a long way in ensuring everyone’s safety on the roads.
