Hindu organisation a big supporter of community events in Richards Bay

Eyethu Baywatch - - LETTERS • IZINCWADI -

AS a Richards Bay resident who enjoys participating in community awareness and upliftment events, it is admirable to see how many of our local community groups also offer their support.

One in particular is the Umhlathuze Hindu Development Committee (UHDC), a vibrant group which always goes the extra mile in their own outreach initiatives, as well as in supporting other events.

This month I spotted them at the Bay Watch SANCA Walk Away from Drugs event and their own personal beach clean-up campaign on International Coastal Clean-up Day last weekend.

They host their own outreach events and community projects such as wellness days, feeding schemes, food parcel drives, women’s day of prayer, events honouring the senior citizens and their Deepavali light up a life children’s project.

I commend the organisation for their contributions and selfless service to our community and making a difference in the lives of many.
