FELIXTON Cricket Club picked up a one wicket victory over eSikhaweni in a first division Saturday 24 Over League match played at Addison Park on Saturday.

The game had an intense ending, with the light deteriorating and eSikhaweni needing one wicket for victory and Felixton needing a handful of runs with only two overs to go.

But Neill Jordan’s unbeaten stand of 83 off 70 balls got Felixton home.

Felixton captain Guy Richardson won the toss and elected to field first.

eSikhaweni put on 180/5 thanks to good contributions from Sizwe Ntanzi (55 off 57) and Sphelele Sibiya (35 off 46).

Jordan led from the front with the nut, ending with figures of 2/31 in 6.

He was backed up at the opposite end by spinner Mohammed Taqvi, who took two wickets for 46 runs in five overs.

Felixton reached 181/8 in 23 overs, with Taqvi contributing 32 off 48 balls in support of Jordan’s knock.

Philane Cuambe and Sandiso Mkhize were the pick of the eSikhaweni bowling attack with figures of 3/39 in 5 overs and 2/41 in 7 respectively.
