Inspired by the lit­tle le­mons on the ta­ble, we opted for a le­mon-flavoured sponge cake with but­ter­cream ic­ing. Serve with a fruity tea. Ca­trin small can­dle in pink (R179) Coun­try Road. Chairs (R110 each to hire) Some­thing Dif­fer­ent. ‘It’s beau­ti­ful and fit­ting to in­cor­po­rate fruit for a spring wed­ding. We used minia­ture le­mons for that fresh cit­rus smell, but you can get re­ally cre­ative and even use figs and berries!’ says Heike. For those on a bud­get, she sug­gests al­ter­nat­ing hang­ing flo­ral in­stal­la­tions and flo­ral ar­range­ments on the ta­bles.
