HOW TO SHINE UP TARNISHED JEWELLERY
Silver jewellery tarnishes with time, skin acidity, perfumes, moisturisers and even environmental changes. A soft polishing cloth may work, or try this DIY option (not for jewellery with precious stones unless they’re diamonds). • Line a shallow dish with aluminium foil, shiny side up. • Half-fill the dish with boiling water. • Place the jewellery in it, then add 1-2 teaspoons baking soda. • Leave for about 20 minutes, rinse with water, then rub with a soft cloth or use a soft bristled brush to get to the difficult-to-reach areas.
