DEATH OF A DIVA (on kindle) BY DEREK FARRELL (Fahrenheit Press)

Fairlady - - BOOK CLUB -

Funny, pacy and as intriguing as a light whodunit needs to be, this is the first in the Danny Bird series. Arriving home early one day in search of solace and comfort (having just been retrenched) Danny finds his boyfriend in a clinch with the window cleaner. He walks straight out – and applies for a job as the manager of a seedy bar. When chanteuse (and gay icon) Lyra Day agrees to hold her comeback concert there, Danny thinks his fortunes may be changing… right up to the point where he finds her dead in her dressing room. The police think he’s the chief suspect, the gangster pub owner wants his blood, someone has stolen all the cash – what other option does he have than to track down the killer himself? Lighthearted and fun.
