Powerful women

Fairlady - - YOUR SAY -

I found the ‘Power to the people’ feature [September 2018] of great interest and a MUST-read for all South Africans. My heartiest congratulations to these two wonderful women, Makoma Lekalakala and Liz McDaid. We South Africans must praise them and their teams for their watchful eye on Parliament and the government. Had the nuclear deal been signed off, it would have been a complete disaster for SA, financially and environmentally.

Ed: We couldn’t agree more. We’re all about celebrating exceptional South African women, so keep reading!

History comes alive

Thank you for ‘From France to Franschhoek’ [Sept 2018], about Kate Mosse’s new novel series. The narrative about our country’s rich history has become a bit watered down and these books, I’m sure, will help spark an interest in people to do their own research. I can’t wait to read them and muse on whether one of my ancestors might have known the characters.

Lindi Pienaar

Ed: We love that she highlights women in her stories – as she says, we’re so often left out of the history books.
